High Speed Network
US Internet provides connectivity to the Internet through multiple diverse fiber paths and multi-layer bit carrier options.  All network facilities have been implemented with N+1 redundancy and border gateway protocol BGP4.

Data Center
US Internet operates Minnesota’s # 1 Data Center, hosting many of the state’s largest enterprises, Fortune 500 companies, pace-setting organizations from around the globe and thousands of medium and small firms.

The 20,000 square foot data center provides the latest leading edge equipment and technologies have been brought together in a forward looking architecture that improves customers’ operating efficiencies and eliminates risk. And, as a privately held company built on agility, flexibility and an acute focus on our customers’ needs, USI makes it a point to offer highly customized solutions for everything from floor space and rack configuration to cloud services.

US Internet has blown past conventional engineering methods to ensure the highest quality, most efficient and reliable data management experience available. High capacity, multi-tiered power designs, cooling and fire protection systems, top-notch professionals and bullet-proof security standards keep your data safe, keep your costs low and, of course, deliver 100% uptime.

Security
Physical access to our data center is biometrically and pass card controlled. All data center equipment is stored within secure rack mount enclosures. The data center and adjoining areas are under 24-hour video surveillance.

To prevent authorized network access, US Internet utilizes a combination of technical platforms to counterattack all known methods of compromising the core network. Firewalls are utilized to restrict access to the network and filters have been added to routers and switches. IP restrictions and username/password authentication are utilized where appropriate.

Disaster Recovery
US Internet understands there are three major areas of potential system failure — power, network and facility. In the event of power failure, US Internet’s redundant generators running on separate power grids handle the necessary load for an unlimited period of time.

Multiple diverse fiber paths and multi-layer bit carrier options provide alternative routs in the even that links are compromised.

US Internet SSAE 16 Attestation
US Internet’s main data center, located in Minnetonka, MN is a Type 2 SSAE 16 (SOC 2) attested facility. The SSAE 16 attestation standard superseded the SAS 70 audit standard in mid-2011, and is the adopted version of the International Standards for Assurance Engagements (ISAE) No. 3402, Assurance Reports on Controls at a Service Organization. It addresses controls that a service organization implements to prevent, or detect and correct, errors or omissions in the information it provides to customers relative to physical and environmental security, monitoring, availability of service, processing integrity, confidentiality and privacy.

Completing SSAE 16 attestation verifies that US Internet’s data center is secure, and suitable for companies that need to comply with legal requirements like Sarbanes-Oxley. It also means that individual enterprises don’t need to perform their own audits of USI services – they can use USI’s SSAE-16 report in their own reporting.

US Internet passed the 2016 SSAE 16 audit of its 20,000 square foot data center with zero discrepancies.
