US Internet’s main data center, located in Minnetonka, MN is a Type 2 SSAE 16 (SOC 1) attested facility. The SSAE 16 attestation standard superseded the SAS 70 audit standard in mid-2011, and is the adopted version of the International Standards for Assurance Engagements (ISAE) No. 3402, Assurance Reports on Controls at a Service Organization. It addresses controls that a service organization implements to prevent, or detect and correct, errors or omissions in the information it provides to customers relative to physical and environmental security, monitoring, availability of service, processing integrity, confidentiality and privacy.
Completing SSAE 16 attestation verifies that US Internet’s data center is secure, and suitable for companies that need to comply with legal requirements like Sarbanes-Oxley. It also means that individual enterprises don’t need to perform their own audits of USI services – they can use USI’s SSAE-16 report in their own reporting.
US Internet passed the 2016 SSAE 16 audit of its 20,000 square foot data center with zero discrepancies.
